Alpine Crown Hotel
St. Moritz, Switzerland
Accommodation
The Alpine Crown Hotel is an intimate, 68-key property set within a classic Swiss chalet-style facade that has been expanded with a modern glass extension. Each room is uniquely configured, but all feature heated floors, premium wool textiles, and large windows facing the mountain or the lake. The suites include separate stone bathrooms and efficient luggage storage — a detail appreciated by skiing guests. Beds are firm but comfortable with high-quality linen.
Dining & Room Service
The Crown Restaurant holds a Michelin star, and we can confirm the tasting menu is a refined experience centred on local Alpine ingredients. Breakfast is served in a second room with polished wood panelling and a view of the slopes. Room service is available until midnight. The hotel's bar offers a carefully curated list of Swiss wines and rare spirits. Given the Michelin presence, reservations are advisable during peak season.
Spa and Wellness
Wellness facilities include an indoor pool with lake views, a modern gym, and a spa treatment area. The sauna area is strictly textile-free, following local custom, and quiet hours are enforced. We found the spa team especially knowledgeable about post-ski recovery.
Pool and Recreation
There is no outdoor pool because of the alpine climate, but the indoor pool is long enough for proper laps. Sun loungers face the window for after-swim relaxation. The adjacent ski room offers secure private lockers and tuned boot warmers.
Location and Transport
The hotel sits within a 10-minute walk of the St. Moritz Dorf railway station and directly adjacent to a ski lift. The car park is covered and costs a flat daily fee. Those arriving by car from Zurich will drive approximately three hours. The property can arrange helicopter transfers from the airport on request.
On-Site Casino
The casino lounge is situated in the lower level and is small by international standards. It offers a blend of table games and electronic machines. Entry is restricted to those aged 18 and older under Swiss federal law. Patrons must present a valid passport or Swiss ID card for verification. The property enforces a smart-casual dress code. It is worth remembering that the casino's opening hours may vary from hotel operations.
